Ding, ding, ding. End of round two!
The final hockey game of the 2010 NHL playoffs, round two, has just ended. Boston Bruins’ fate was decided for the entire season by a “too many men on the ice” penalty at the end of the third period in game seven. OMG! America made fun of Floridians not being able to count in past elections, and now too many men on the ice is the new Bruins trademark!
Boston vs Philadelphia game seven and the series in general, however, was not the upset of the 2010 NHL Playoff second round. What was the NHL playoff upset? Montreal Canadiens beat the defending champions out of the playoffs in seven games of well executed NHL hockey. Nineteenth place in the league, Montreal Canadiens beat the Penguins, last year’s NHL PLayoff Champions. The team that barely squeaked into the playoffs with only 88 points for the year, beat the eighth place, 101 point, Penguins. That’s the story of the NHL Playoffs right there.
WOOT! This is fun. 2010 NHL Playoffs ROCK!
